Special. Expensive. Treat.
Last night Andy and I threw together some salsa took on the adventure of making a batch of salsa. We had carefully brought to Japan one lonely bag of tortillas and we decided that last night was the night to use them before them became stale. The menu was set: fajitas, rice, tortillas, chips and liquid gold salsa. We set out for the store with the task in mind to buy ingredients to make a small batch of salsa. I will spare you the details... but one homemade batch of Salsa cost well over $20.00! Needless to say, liquid gold salsa is rarely on the menu at this house! I am not even going to try and add up how much the entire dinner cost us. (I think it would have been much cheeper to go out!) Anyway, eat some chips and salsa for me!

Compare the cost of your Mexican feast to the cost of plane tickets to Denver. I'm sure it's cheaper, and I'll even buy your dinner when you get here. :)
ReplyDeleteOoohhh! So sad. I will now think of you and Andy every time I have Mexican food and savor all the chips and salsa. Well...I hope you like sushi, or did you tell me they don't have that much of it there? So...what is your favorite Japanese food?
ReplyDeletePenny is traveling to China today. I know that isn't close, but at least it IS the same continent! She had 2 little girls from China in her school in 07-08. Their parents were visiting professors at one of the Universities in Southampton. She is visiting them for her first week of Half-Term.
ReplyDeleteLaurie - you are right a ticket would be cheaper!
ReplyDeleteMama V! PLEASE enjoy lots of chips and salsa for me! I do love Japanese food! So far my favorites are curry, gyoza, and fried noodles! But it is all so YUMMY!
